Black Tourmaline Properties

Black tourmaline has lots of vertical striations, furrows, and ridges, and this is how you will recognize it when it’s in its natural form. Black tourmaline is also known as Schorl Tourmaline. The name is derived from a Sri Lankan regional term called ‘turmali’, which was a word used to refer to yellow zircon.

It was just a simple mistake of sending tourmaline in a consignment labeled with ‘turmalin’, but the name simply stuck.

Why Would You Use Black Tourmaline?

It has also been used since the ancient times for safety and protection.

This is one of the most famous of the different kinds of black tourmaline meaning, although it has as much to do with the color of the stone as the stone itself.

Black tourmaline is a very effective stone to use if you want to keep the bad luck or negativity away.
